Contains 1 ounce of powdered glass bubble enamel. Must be mixed with a glass medium.
BubbleART is a fired glass color featuring non-toxic pigments in a powdered form, designed to be combined with GM300 Glass Medium. You can mix it in equal parts or dilute it further if preferred. You must stir the mixture regularly as the pigment may settle at the bottom.
BubbleART Application Tips
The placement of BubbleART glass paint is dependent on the design or artist, allowing control over the bubble patterns. Using a liner brush to apply lines on the glass with spaces in between will result in linear bubble formations. Conversely, filling in solid areas will create a uniform bubble coverage. Additionally, adding dots of color will produce small clusters of bubbles.
BubbleART may also be applied atop glass to achieve a textured appearance. Some colors will appear transparent, while others will be opaque on the glass surface. Many of these effects rely on specific techniques. Adding more GM300 Glass Medium can alter the consistency and intensity of the colors. If applied on the top surface, they are not safe for contact with food.
Before mixing powdered colors with GM300-Glass Medium, shake the jar well. These colors have a grittier texture compared to the "G" series glass color line. If you prefer less intensity, remove the gritty particles from the wet color before it dries. Applying the color more heavily will result in a darker shade, while a lighter application will yield a lighter shade.
The hotter BubbleART paints are fired the larger the bubbles will be. Test firing BubbleART paint in your kiln is highly recommended because every kiln fires differently.
Apply GM-300 Glass Medium to the bottom glass piece, then use a palette knife to lightly sprinkle dry powders over it. A small sifter is also effective for this task. Cover with clear or transparent glass and fire until fully fused. This will create distinct bubbles where the powder was sprinkled.
