Bullseye thin fire is a convenient alternative to using kiln wash on your kiln shelves. Thin fire is a heat-resistant light weight paper that provides excellent separation between the kiln shelf and glass. This thin fire paper works great for firings up to 1600 degrees Fahrenheit.
Thin fire paper does not shrink and has a printed pattern on the bottom side of the paper that is useful in determining which side to place down on the kiln shelf as well as provides a quick cutting guide when sizing for your fusing project. The printed pattern side should be placed down against the kiln shelf.
Venting your kiln until it reaches 1000 degrees Fahrenheit is recommended while the thin fire binding burns off. Thin fire paper leaves a fine matte texture on fused glass.
Safety:
Always wear a dusk mask or respirator when cleaning up the thin fire paper after firing. Thin fire paper turns powder like after firing leaving ceramic particles that are harmful when airborne.
